Whole School Approach

The House of Commons Committee report to government 2021 -2022 urges immediate support to help young people ‘reduce psychological distress, improve relationships, and help manage emotions` in and out of school. Safe and Sound addresses all three in one go.

With the whole school approach, we deliver the Safe and Sound Masterclass for three distinct groups within the school family, creating a tripartite approach to mental health support and achieving one massive overarching outcome. The whole school community synergising with new knowledge, tips, tools, and techniques and moving forward together with confidence and skills to cope with anything.

The first Masterclass is delivered for teachers, support staff, pastoral teams, school counsellors, mid-day supervisor and caretakers. This group benefit from the skills personally to support their own wellbeing, and learn unique Safe and Sound coaching skills, becoming Safe and Sound Champions to enhance support for students in their care.

The second phase is delivery of the masterclass for students. This can be for every student on campus if you choose, or a smaller cohort of students who become Safe and Sound councillors, advocates, and champions,  and a first point of call for anyone in school to approach for support.

The third is delivered for parents, guardians and associates connected with the school. A masterclass delivered for a specially invited cohort chosen by the school. This includes parents or guardians wishing to learn new skills to support young people in their care more effectively,  and supporters of the school, for example, school governors, volunteers, and parent helpers. All benefit personally from the training and become Safe and Sound Ambassadors, maintaining momentum for the training, and supporting Safe and Sound, inside and outside school.

The benefits of the whole school approach are plain to see. Wherever you look, there will be a Safe and Sound practitioner, upskilled, equipped and accredited by Safe and Sound. Constantly sharing and reinforcing personal resilience and mental strength building tips, tools and techniques, every minute of every day to support the mental strength of the whole school community.

Your school, college or university will see Increased chatter about the training content and mental health in general, sparking discussions about what works and why. Creating psychological safety where everyone feels safe to talk about how they are feeling and asking for support is seen as a strength. Ultimately, building a positive, healthy school culture and preparing students for life after education. Students growing into well-functioning adults, able to cope well with all life’s challenges and move forward to live a happy, healthy life.

Sports Academies

Helping young people passing through your doors build unshakeable personal resilience and strong mental health.

Not everybody will make it to the topflight in elite sport despite the best efforts of academies.

Studies reveal evidence that over 75% of young people who don`t make the grade feel they`re not given enough support by their club upon release, with half saying they felt anxious and depressed as a result.

I don’t have to tell you that mental health is more important now than ever after the pandemic and for young people dreaming of a career in elite sport, the potential to `crash and burn` if they don’t make it a major concern.

It Does Not Have to Be This Way!

I`d like to introduce you to Safe and Sound Academy. A unique learning experience to help young people passing through elite sport academies build unshakeable personal resilience and strong mental health. Nurturing, equipping, and protecting by teaching the vital skills they need to cope no matter where life takes them.

Safe and Sound is unique, and will complement your existing strategy by delivering an outstanding wellbeing experience, connecting with your young people, and showing them how to respond well, no matter what happens, as they move through training and selection. A resilience and life skills Masterclass, tailored to their exact need, which will deliver outstanding outcomes.
